The Influences of Placental Extract on Skin Homotransplantation in Rabbit

Abstract
It is well known that a graft of skin or organ is destroyed and sloughed in some duration after their homotransplantation. The generally accepted theory regarding the rejection of homografts is that of an actively acquired immunity.
The relationship of mother and fetus in pregnancy, is similar to the state of being the fetus is homotransplanted in the mother¢¥s body, and none untoward events occur between them.
An infant homotransplanted in the mother¢¥s body night be safe through the presence of placenta, that contains remaricable assemblage of enzymatic activities, under the reason, we studied the in
fluences of placental substance, Choay placental extract at 50%, on skin autotransplantation and homotransplantation.
In the control group, eight pairs of rabbits were studied without placental substance administration,
In the experimental group, six pairs of rabbits were injected with placental extract intramuscularly, to five pairs of them every other day and to the remaining one pair daily. The results were as follows.
1. In the control group, all the grafts too) on ninth to fourteenth day after grafting in auto grafts, while all the grafts sloughed on nineteenth to twenty-fourth day after grafting in homo grafts.
2. In the experimental group that received placental extract injections, all the auto grafts tool on ninth to twelfth day after grafting, while all the homo grafts sloughed on twentyth to twenty-sixth day after grafting.
3. Regarding the results of taking and sloughing of the auto grafts and homo grafts, no definite differences were recognized between control group
and experimental group in normal rabbits.
